LJ Hooker Property Specialists triumph at annual awards night following a busy year

LJ Hooker Casey had plenty of reasons to celebrate after taking home a swag of trophies including Top Residential Sales Office, at the iconic network’s annual Night of the Stars Awards.

The black-tie gala dinner, held in Melbourne last week, was part of a series of awards events around the country showcasing the exceptional performance of LJ Hooker real estate professionals.

LJ Hooker Casey Managing Director John Deo became the first Victorian recipient of the Sir Leslie Hooker Award – named in honour of the company founder. The award recognises the contribution of a business owner to the community, the real estate network and the mentoring of staff.

It was one of many highlights for the tight-knit agency which covers Melbourne’s outer south-eastern suburbs.

LJ Hooker Casey agency also won Top Office Support (Carissa Seraindis), Top Performance Manager – Sales (Alistair Shearer), Top Business Development Manager (Monika Papdan), Top Property Manager (Maddy Goodwin), Excellence in Marketing, Top Residential Sales – Volume, Top Residential Sale Office – Value and was runner up for Top Residential All Income.

“The team were very excited to win so many awards – they love being recognised for their efforts,” Mr Deo said.

“We’ve had to think strategically during the past year and everyone has worked very hard to get the deals done. After the impact of COVID-19, our market has faced affordability issues and interest rate increases. It has been a challenge but the only option was to be smart about our operations and get busy prospecting by hitting the phones which proved to be successful.”

The Night of the Stars showcases the very best in sales, property management, commercial real estate and operations by showcasing the unparalleled contributions of LJ Hooker offices across Australia.

General Manager of Network, Stephen Mutton congratulated LJ Hooker Casey on their outstanding performance during the past year.

“Night of the Stars is a wonderful opportunity to gather offices from around each State to celebrate the past year’s successes,” Mr Mutton said.

“We know that awards and recognition play a key part in our value offering. The hard work and achievements by our LJ Hooker offices deserve to be highlighted and to have their moment in the spotlight.”

Mr Deo said he was particularly proud to have been named the winner of the Sir Leslie Hooker Award.

“I have been going to these awards nights for 24 years and I’ve never seen a winner for that award from Victoria,” he said.

“It was a wonderful surprise – it was only when they started reading the criteria that I thought there was a possibility they were talking about me. And then, they called out my name – I am thrilled because it is a huge honour.”
